The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

This eclectic group of six mid-pubescents turned up at the Visual Focus showroom as part of their preparation for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Each of these actors is creating their stage character ready to vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime, as part of the comedy musical production by Shoebox Theatre Company, opening in July at the Empire Theatre’s Armitage Centre, Heritage Bank Auditorium.

During the Tony Award winning stage musical, these six tween characters candidly disclose hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, while spelling their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words. They hope to never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.

Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

Time to get out your dictionaries for a riotous ride, complete with audience participation.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is musical comedy genius!

Visual Focus encourages you to organise your tickets for a great night out at the theatre.
